We worked with a Life Sciences company to improve the handling of their chemical vials and improve the flexibility of their packing methods to accommodate despatches by both ambient and chilled transport.
Options
We came up with options to consider - seeking the balance between packaging storage and waste disposal and it was decided that a mixture would be used to accommodate the varying pack sizes stations.
Handling Larger Cartons
There was also a problem with the handling of larger cartons, with the operators unable to access them when they were placed on the packing station surface, so we included a lowered surface that could be folded away when not required
Layout Options
Once the pack station design was agreed in principle, we then studied the best options for layout so the client could visualise the workflow and optimise their operation.
