Life Sciences - Case Study

We worked with a Life Sciences company to improve the handling of their chemical vials and improve the flexibility of their packing methods to accomodate despatches by both ambient and chilled transport.

Options

We came up with options to consider - seeking the balance between packaging storage and waste disposal and it was decided that a mixture would be used to accomodate the varying pack sizes stations

Handling Larger Cartons

There was also a problem with the handling of larger cartons, with the operators unable to access them when they were placed on the packing station surface, so we included a lowered surface that could be folded away when not required

Layout Options

Once the pack station design was agreed in principle we then studied the best options for layout so the client could visualise the work flow and optimise their operation

All in all - a successful outcome!

Our client benefitted from improved storage, better handling and less instances of goods breaking or going missing.
